Lunch

Nothing hits the spot like a McDonalds Angus Mushroom and Swiss burger, fries, and a diet coke.

Not that there's anything wrong with a dragonesque figure!

Cake Party

Last night I hosted the second biannual CAKE PARTY at my house. I had about 18 people RSVP, but thankfully only about 13 showed up. In two years, when I get around to it again, hopefully my house will be bigger.

The first time we did this, we played mostly with frosting, marshmallows, and sugar. This time we did a lot more with fondant.

Mindy may kill me for puttng her picture on my blog, but her cake turned out really cute and this is the only piture I took of it.

The hamburger was made with a combination of cookies, frosting, and fondant, the fries and shake are all fondant except for the chocolate shake, which is frosting. It's her sons birthday today so she made it for him.

I did a fondant demo to show how it is used and made this little number here.

The picture doesn't do the color justice. It was the prettiest purple!

This is what it looked like when I woke up this morning. Needless to say, my two-year-old was up before me.

Gun Control

The other day Steve and I were reading a Facebook discussion that began when a school teacher posted that her children would NEVER be allowed to play with toy guns and that she would NEVER own a gun.

We laughed at the young parents who seemed to think that keeping toy guns out of the hands of their children would somehow keep their children from play shooting, play killing, and being agressive.

Children that do not have toy guns will use ANYTHING as a gun. Children play kill each other because they are using their imagination, they do not fully comprehend death. Children hit because they are children, not because they play with toy guns (not even sure how there was an argument for that in the first place).

All that being said, it was more funny than shocking when my 2 year old came into the living room this afternoon with this.

How does this work?
Where is the trigger?
I think I got it!
Stick 'em up!!!
If you don't find this at least amusing, your children are not old enough yet.
